1. What does GledkAV! means ?

“Gledk” is taken from Javanese word “Gledek”, that means thunder. It is represented ThunderBird, email client software. And “AV” means antivirus. It is represented ClamAV as GledkAV! antivirus engine. So, GledkAV! means antivirus that kills virus as strong as thunder. GledkAV! as a bridge between ThunderBird and ClamAV to combine them to be open source email client that have more power and reliability.

2. What does inspire the GledkAV! logo?

The logo is about Javanese traditional leather puppet that is called wayang. The wayang story is taken from famous India epics, Mahabharata. It was written by Begawan Byasa about 200 before century. We want adapt it because we want people all round the world also know about one of our rich culture. \

3. How to spell GledkAV! ?

You spell it “glædæk ave”

4. How much does GledkAV! cost?

Absolutely nothing because GledkAV! is free.

5. Why GledkAV!?

GledkAV! is free, open source and reliable ClamAV antivirus add-on for Thunderbird email client software. GledkAV! is performing automatic scanning for email that is downloaded by ThunderBird. GledkAV! gives second protection for downloaded email and give a detected virus report to user. GledkAV! can perform these below actions :

Scanning for malicious softwares

Deleting detected viruses automatically

Give a list of detected viruses.

7. When does GledkAV! release for the next version?

We try to release for the new version as soon as possible, hopefully, every 3 months, but we only fix the bugs and error in GledkAV!. When all bugs and errors in GledkAV were fixed, we wait until ThunderBird or ClamAV release new version, and then we check the compatible.

If you have a trouble installing or using GledkAV! try asking on our mailing lists at: http://www.gledk_av@googlegroups.com. There are three lists available:

10. Where can I report undetected virus?

If you have got a virus which is not detected with the latest databases, please submit the sample at ClamAV website: http://www.clamav.net/sendvirus

11. Whatshould i do if i want to contribute in GledkAV! project?

There are two ways to contribute in this project. First, become a developer and second become a bug tracker.  What u have to do is confirm us what do u want to be by sending email to gledkav.addons@gmail.com. Then, we’ll give you username and password for entering SVN ( http://scm.poss.its.ac.id ) and make login for you in GForge (https://poss.its.ac.id). For developer upload your works to folder support_dev at SVN. Don’t forget to branch and trunk the software progress. For bugtracker submit or solve the bugs at GForge.

12. How do i write branch and trunk?

Install SVN on your computer. Then upload your file into SVN.
